Beta Club
Southwood Academy of the Arts has held a National Junior Beta Club since 2012. The National Junior Beta Club works to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, leadership and service among elementary and secondary school students. It maintains four pillars:
ACHIEVEMENT - Recognizing and honoring high academic achievement
CHARACTER - Preparing young people for life and empowering them to be successful
LEADERSHIP - Developing the leaders of tomorrow
SERVICE - Demonstrating our motto: Let Us Lead by Serving Others
In order to be invited into the National Junior Beta Club at Southwood Academy of the Arts, you must be in the seventh or eighth grade and have a minimum GPA of 3.625 at the end of your previous school year. National and School dues are $30 and must be paid in order to be inducted. Once inducted into Beta Club, you will be expected to maintain a GPA of 3.625 each nine weeks and completed 10 hours of volunteer service hours within the community.
