Beta Club

Southwood Academy of the Arts has held a National Junior Beta Club chapter since 2012. The National Junior Beta Club (elementary/middle school) and National Beta Club (high school) work to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, leadership, and service among elementary and secondary school students. This organization maintains four pillars:

  • ACHIEVEMENT - Recognizing and honoring high academic achievement
  • CHARACTER - Preparing young people for life and empowering them to be successful
  • LEADERSHIP - Developing the leaders of tomorrow
  • SERVICE - Demonstrating our motto: Let Us Lead by Serving Others

In order to be invited into the National Junior Beta Club at Southwood Academy of the Arts, you must be in the seventh or eighth grade and have a minimum GPA of 3.625 at the end of your previous school year.
